The documentary movie Best Worst Thing That Ever Could Have Happened has premiered at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall as part of the New York Film Festival. The behind-the-scene film tells the story of the original 1981 production of Merrily We Roll Along, which Hal Prince and Stephen Sondheim were convinced would be a success. Of course, it ended up being the golden duo’s biggest flop, closing after just 16 performances.
Abramorama have picked up the movie for theatrical distribution in the USA. We’ve yet to hear about a UK showing but will announce details if and when we hear anything.
